A card featuring a background made with the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue and the Pop Of Petals stamp set with coordinating Four-Petal Flower Punch. |
This time, I spritzed through the mask with my very diluted Bermuda Bay ink then I removed the mask, rinsed it, patted it dry and then repositioned it slightly down and to the left of the original sprayed pattern. I then spritzed with a dilution of Blueberry Bushel ink.
Well, I think I should have allowed the first layer of ink to dry more, because the Blueberry Bushel ink bled a little bit and also pooled under the mask in one area. The overall effect was not what I had envisaged and my first reaction was to throw it away. But then the thriftier side of me kicked in and I decided to simply cover up the worst of the splodges! What would you have done?
My splodgy background, saved by covering up the splodges with flowers! |
My Pop of Petals stamp set and coordinating Four Petal Flower Punch is very under-utilised, so I decided to make a little cluster of flowers with them.
Using a template and Stamparatus to quickly stamp punched (or die cut) shapes. |
When previously using this set, I had made myself a little template for easy stamping with the Stamparatus, so it was quick and easy to punch out the shapes, quickly align the stamp and then stamp the flowers.

Wow! I love the dimension you got using the two colors of spritzing. I honestly thought you had colored embossing paste and applied it over the mask. This is a beautiful technique, Stephanie. I so wish I could remember to make templates to use with my dies/punches/stamps. It really does allow you to get it perfect. Beautiful card, Ms Stephanie!...and by the way...I would have covered those areas up also! Way to be resourceful, Girl!
