A masculine card with sponged background and dimensional fish |
My box of goodies arrived this morning so this is my first play with it.
I tore some paper to make a mask and sponged the mountainous background to presumably a wide river or shallow lake. The mountains are Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. Then I reversed the mask and sponged the reflection with Highland Heather. I'll admit here, that I'm not very happy with my work - I was in a bit too much of a rush! The reflection should be much closer to shore.
I then streakily (is that even a word?!) sponged on some Balmy Blue ink before adding the fisherman with black ink. There's just a hint of Balmy Blue in the sky - I didn't reink the sponge but used what was left from sponging the water. I added a few more streaks with Balmy Blue ink and a damp brush then attached the greeting.
I stamped the fish on a separate scrap of Whisper White card and watercoloured it with a variety of inks including Lemon Lime Twist, Poppy Parade, Tranquil Tide and Coastal Cabana (I was aiming for a Rainbow Trout). I could have used the coordinating die but decided to hand cut it. I then used a ball tool on the back of the fish to create a full body and attached to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
So now the poor fisherman is completely oblivious of the antics of the fish that is smarter than he is!
Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!
