In September, the Ink It! Stamp It! International Design Team will have as our theme, projects inspired by home decor (thank you, Carolina Evans for setting such a great topic!). I'm so excited that I just can't wait that long!
This card was inspired by a picture from a store catalogue that didn't quite fit into my post box.
This card was inspired by a department store catalogue. First Frost with Blueberry Bushel ink |
I started out with a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and roughly brayered it with some Blueberry Bushel ink. Usually I end up with streaky brayering accidentally but this time it was what I wanted - very liberating!
I then lightly spritzed with water and then immediately with a mix of Blueberry Bushel ink and water.
Once the piece had dried, I stamped a variety of the First Frost images with Blueberry Bushel ink - some of them a couple of times without reinking to obtain lighter images. I did a little bit of masking on the roses so that they overlapped and had stems.
I used my Stamparatus to stamp the greeting with Blueberry Bushel ink so that I could increase the intensity of the colour.
Then I simply layered the piece onto Balmy Blue cardstock before adhering to the Blueberry Bushel base card and added a few Basic Adhesive Backed Sequins.
This was my inspiration piece - putting those store catalogues to good use! |
Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!

Oh!how pretty, Stephanie! Love the variations of the color blue. Isn't if fun to find inspiration in various places? P.S. I'm still working on that horse card. I had to take a week 'timeout' and clean and reorganize my stamp room. Hugs to you, Dear Friend!
ReplyDeleteLovely to hear from you, RaeDeen! You've almost inspired me to tidy and clean my studio .... but not quite! Look forward to seeing your horse! x
