Welcome to the inaugural Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop - the brainchild of the amazing Carolina Evans. I'm so thrilled to have been invited to join this team of talented crafters and excited about the journey on which we are just embarking together.
We'll be hopping every month so be sure to pop back and visit us again! Today our theme is Celebration.
You are currently at my page - Stephanie Fischer, The Crafty Thinker. At the end of my post there is a full line of team members, please click on the name after mine in the list to continue the hop.
This card celebrates the 40th birthday of a friend's daughter who is a keen surfer and will be spending her special day in Bali.
The lovely outdoor seat is from the new Seasonal Layers die set - available from 1st June |
At first glance the card is a simple tropical sunset scene - but wait, there's a surprise! Pull on the tag ...
I took this photo before I added the ribbon to the card - oops! But I think you'll see it needed it. |
... and ...
I don't like using non-current Stampin' Up! products - but when needs must ... these were the only number dies that fit! |
... birthday wishes are revealed! If you're wondering how I made the paper on the extensions: a while ago, I made a stamp with the Swirly Scribbles thinlet.
The Swirly Scribbles on the inside of the card continue the wave theme |
I hope you've enjoyed this card and I welcome your comments.

DeleteStephanie, this is a knock out card, it is actually a piece of art!!! Anyone would be thrilled to receive this card. Would you please share the colors that you used on this card.
ReplyDeleteThanks much.
Thank you, Joanie! The sky is Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Watermelon Wonder and Berry Burst. The sea is Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Dapper Denim (with small elements of the sky included as a reflection). The main card colour is Bermuda Bay with layers of Tangerine Tango. The swirls on the extensions are stamped with the same colours as the sea.
