Arrow Fold card featuring the gorgeous Boho Indigo product medley

My thanks go to my lovely friend, Satomi, for bringing this gorgeous fold to my attention and to Sam Calcott of Mixed Up Craft for creating it!

I've basically followed Sam's tutorial, with just a couple of minor alterations that embrace our metric measurements.

The Tasteful Label provides a space to write a message

I used an A4 sheet of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it to 30cm x 10.5cm scored and folded in the middle to create a folded card measuring 15cm x 10.5cm.

Following Sam's tutorial, I placed the fold at the top and then made little pencil marks on each side at 3.5cm and 7cm.  I also made a pencil mark on the bottom edge at 7.5cm.  Then, having opened up the card so that I only scored the top layer, I carefully scored a line from the centre point on the bottom edge to each of the marks on the side and also to the top corners.  So that's 3 scored lines on each side, meeting at the centre point at the bottom of the card.

I then burnished the scored lines and folded as shown in Sam's tutorial.

To create the triangular layers, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock to 14cm x 10cm.  I made a little pencil mark in the centre of the bottom edge (at 7cm) and then carefully cut from each top corner down to that centre point.

For the layer of patterned paper, I cut a rectangle 13cm x 9.5cm.  Placing a pencil mark on the bottom edge at 6.5cm, I repeated the previous steps.

Instead of using the remaining triangles of paper to decorate the inside of the card, I cut rectangles 14.5cm x10cm for the Night of Navy and 14cm x 9.5cm for the Boho Indigo paper.

I then adhered a Very Vanilla label cut with one of the Painted Labels dies, stamped with a sentiment from the Four Seasons Floral stamp set.

I had so much fun and the fold is so gorgeous that I then set about making another!  This time I used Whisper White and Gray Granite cardstock, Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, Peony Dies and Petal Pink cardstock.  I used Basic Gray and Sahara Sand cardstock for the leaves.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop: Christmas - Peaceful Boughs Christmas Table Favour

Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  This month our theme is Christmas.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer (The Crafty Thinker) from Australia. I hope you enjoy my project and then click on "Click here to enter" and click through the little images to see all of the other great projects in the hop!

I like to make little treats or "table favours" for my Christmas table with place names attached.  The pressure is on each year to come up with something a bit different!
A Christmas table favor featuring the Peaceful Boughs Bundle and Winter Snow embossing folder

This year, I've used the Peaceful Boughs Bundle to make little festive wrappers for a chocolaty treat.  Our Christmas Crackers (or Bon Bons) this year are silver, so I embossed a little piece of Silver Foil Sheet with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.

The wrapper is made from Blackberry Bliss cardstock, the cones are silver heat embossed on Early Espresso card, the foliage is cut from Shaded Spruce card and the whole thing is held together with a piece of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon.  The names are written on little Very Vanilla banners cut with one of the Tasteful Labels dies.
These are the dimensions for the wrapper box

I added a strip of adhesive to the back of the wrapper in this location to adhere the ribbon

The wrapper box is the pefect size for fun size packs of M&Ms

I hope the project you've seen here on my blog today has brightened your day.

Joyful Holly Metallics

A metallic Christmas card featuring the Joyful Holly stamp set

Such a simple card!  .... So hard to photograph!  One day I'll remember that I struggle to photograph metallic cards!

The image from the Joyful Holly stamp set is gold heat embossed onto a piece of Brushed Metallic cardstock.  Then I silver heat embossed the greeting.

I cut a Silver Foil frame with a couple of the Stitched Rectangle dies and then adhered the pieces to the Blackberry Bliss base card.

Final touches were to add the bow of Basket Weave Metallic ribbon and some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

The little black cat is my shadow - he follows me from room to room all day ... lucky I don't live in 17th Century Salem!  Mostly, he's well-behaved but as soon as I stand up and turn around, he steals my chair!

Chair thief and bin emptier!

Thank you for visiting.

Poinsettia Place & Forever Gold Christmas Card

#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #christmascard #xmascard #poinsettiaplace #poinsettiapetals , Christmas card, Poinsettia Place, Stampin' Up Demonstrator Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The Poinsettia Place Suite - everything you need to make gorgeous Christmas cards!

I had a narrow strip of Glittery black and vanilla scalloped edge leftover from this card - it was the cutting remnants that I glued together slightly offset.  So the rest of the card was built around that strip - so easy to do with a suite of products like Poinsettia Place.  By the way - the products are also available individually as well as in the suite or bundle.

Feeling a bit lazy - I also added foliage from the Forever Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper, some with the gold side up and some reversed.

Thank you for visiting.
