Seasonal Leaves

Lost your mojo?  Hunting for your creativity?  We've all been there.  It may not feel like it now, but it will come back to you again.  In the meantime, take a look around your room - you may be surprised to find inspiration in something very ordinary that you normally overlook.

Finding myself in that very situation, I found inspiration in the little calendar that sits in the corner of my craft room.

and the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder combine to create this card

The other side of the calendar has a very different pattern - maybe I'll CASE that in the future!

Wondering how I cut the tops of the coloured 1"strips?  With the use of one of the dies in the Botanical Tags set - see below.

The card colours I used were Soft Sea Foam, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, Merry Merlot and Blackberry Bliss.  It's a great way to use up some of those odd little bits of cardstock!

Ink it! Stamp it! International Design Team Blog Hop - Technique: Masking, a masculine card

Welcome to the Ink It! Stamp It! Design Team Blog Hop - we hop every month so be sure to pop back and visit us again!

Today we are sharing techniques and I have chosen masking to create a little scene.

You are currently at my page - Stephanie Fischer, The Crafty Thinker.  At the end of my post there is a full line up of team members, please click on the name after mine in the list to continue the hop.

A masculine card using the Masking Technique to create a little scene with the
Enjoy Life and Winter Woods stamp sets
I first stamped the cyclist with black ink, masked that image and then stamped the trees with Basic Gray ink.  Having removed the mask, I stamped the grass - also with Basic Gray ink.

The mask I created for this masculine card using the Enjoy Life stamp set
I used a piece of Braided Linen Trim behind the label having first dragged my black ink pad over it.

TIPS:
  • To get the intensity of black that I wanted, I stamped several times using my Stamparatus to ensure precision.
  • I stamped two rows of trees, the second slightly above and to one side of the first.
  • I darkened the foreground a little by gently sponging black ink along the bottom of the stamped card.
Thank you so much for joining us today and we hope you'll join us again next month when we'll be providing sneak peeks from the new Holiday Catalogue!

I'm Stephanie Fischer and to keep hopping around see the list below to see who is up next with another great project.

Thanks for visiting

To A Wild Rose with Layered Leaves

I'm sure I can't be the only crafter with an assortment of backgrounds, half-finished thoughts, leftovers and discarded bits floating around the craft space! Really?  Am not am I?

Time and energy are in short supply at the moment, so I hunted through those bits and pieces looking for things that I could assemble together.  Not bad eh?

To A Wild Rose - all purpose hand made card
The background was one of several I did a while ago with an embossing folder and Brusho Crystal Colour that is now retired.  (However, for anyone wanting to have a go at this, the new Pigment Sprinkles are very similar but even nicer colours!).

The flowers are from when I was experimenting with the To A Wild Rose stamp set.  I only used two of the three stamped layers so that the card colour became the lightest shade.

All I had to do was layer it all up with some ribbon and a little bit of bling in the form of Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - Favourite Designer Series Paper

Image may contain: text that says "Stampin Dreams BLOG HOP"
Welcome to the monthly Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer (The Crafty Thinker) from Australia.

Our theme this month is our favourite Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I had a really hard time choosing!

I love the Perennial Essence papers but also the Noble Peacock.  So I sort of combined the two by using the Perennial Essence and the Noble Peacock Foil Sheets!
#thecraftythinker #stampinup #cardmaking #sdbh #simplecard , Wild Rose dies, Perennial Essence DSP, Simple Card, Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop, Stampin' Up Australia Demonstrator, Stephanie Fischer, Sydney NSW
The perennial Essence papers are so beautiful, very little else is required to create a gorgeous card!

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you enjoyed this card.  You are currently visiting Stephanie Fischer - please see the list below and click on the next person on the list to hop through all of the people to all of our projects.  You don't want to miss any!

A change in schedule

Well - I'm sorry to say that I don't have a fresh card to share with you today.  I'm just stopping in to let you know that, for the remainder of my cancer treatments, I'm going to post twice a week (hopefully!).   It's my intention to post fresh projects on Sundays and Fridays.

..... with the exception of this week as I don't want to miss out on the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop on Thursday!
