Colour Me Happy with Blends

This card is entered into the Crazy Crafters Team Highlights this week.  Click here to see the other projects and vote for your favourites.

In this card, I used up the other piece of Basic Gray cardstock leftover from cutting labels.  I described the process I used here.

A quick & easy card using the Color Me Happy stamp set

This was such a quick and easy card!  I stamped the bird (from the Color Me Happy stamp set) with Memento ink onto the Very Vanilla card top and then coloured it with Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

It's so satisfying to find a purpose for leftover bits and pieces I find on my craft table!

Then I simply added the Basic Gray frame and the branch (which was also a leftover piece already on my desk!).  I was tempted to leave it at that but decided to add the Faceted Gems to create more balance.  I (carefully) coloured them by dabbing at them with the Dark Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend so that they would match the bird and the Calypso Coral layer on the card.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!
Stephanie

  1. Awwwww, Stephanie, Little Red Robin. It is as if he has flown onto the branch to get to the berries and somehow the branch has flicked up and the berries go the opposite way. It is such a sweet card. This is a perfect example of NOT throwing pieces away in the bin, You have been able to work a Masterpiece once again. This time with left over cardstock.
