Part of the image has been cut out to allow it to overlap the frame |
Birthday Blooms remains one of my very favourite stamp set and the new Stampin' Blend alcohol markers have added another layer to my love affair with this image!
If you've been following my posts, you'll know that I hate to waste anything! So this card started with a little scrap of Basic Gray cardstock which I had used to cut with one of the Lots of Labels dies for this card. I hadn't centred the die when I cut it nor had I left enough space to cut a frame with a larger die. So I simply trimmed the sides and then used one of the larger dies in the set to shape each end which left me with a cute little frame.
I then cut all the layers for my card and on the Whisper White layer I masked one side of the frame before stamping the image with Memento ink and colouring with the Stampin' Blends in Pool Party and Smoky Slate.
Masking and stamping the image |
I loosely positioned the frame and drew around the inside with a pencil then used a craft knife to cut around the parts of the image that I wanted to overlap the frame.
Having slipped the frame around the image and adhered it, I glued the white layer to the Basic Gray layer before popping the cut parts of the image up on Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stampin' Dimensionals lift the cut section and the underlying Smoky Slate layer provides a shadow |
The greeting is stamped with Basic Gray ink and the base card is Soft Sky.
Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!
