Kylie's International Highlights Top Ten Blog Hop - Get Well Soon

Image may contain: text

I'm so excited (and at the same time humbled) to be taking part in this very special blog hop as one of the Top Ten winners from last month's Get Well themed International Project Highlights run by Kylie Bertucci.  The theme for this blog hop is also Get Well.

I would like to just say a big "thank you" to everybody who voted for my card, thereby providing me with this wonderful opportunity.

A little bit of humour to cheer up a sick friend!

I think this quirky shaker card is suitable for any age group, male or female and so it will sit in my stash of cards (hopefully for a long time) until it's needed.

I've realised that, since this is an international blog hop, some of you may be scratching your head in bewilderment at the moment!  So, just in case, I should explain that if we contract a virus we will often say "I've caught the bug" or "I have a bug".  This card is a play on words and "shake" also means "to rid oneself of".

The bug is stamped, coloured and hand cut.  The lid is heat embossed in gold.  The shadow under the jar is from the Beautiful You stamp set and the splodges are from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

I created the greeting with the Brushwork Alphabet set.

The bug shakes around in the jar

I cut the layers to size and then cut the jar from the top layer with an Everyday Jars framelit.  Positioning the top layer over the Whisper White layer beneath, I stamped the matching jar from the Jar of Love stamp set into the cut out space so that I knew it would line up.

Using Fast Fuse, I stuck a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the cut out and then carefully stuck Foam Adhesive Strips around the edge of the cut out and then around the edge of the layer.

I placed the bug on top of the stamped jar and then carefully lowered the top layer to adhere it.

Tip: stamp the top layer before adding the foam strips.

Thank you for visiting, do click on the next person on the list below to continue the hop.
'Til next time!

Stephanie
