Baby Boy Bear: 3-step card

I was asked to make a Baby Boy card and this is the result.

From the front, the card looks pretty standard

I stamped the Baby Bear stamp onto Soft Sky cardstock using Tip Top Taupe for the first two layers and Early Espresso for the final layer.  I stamped the bow onto Whisper White cardstock using Pacific Point ink.

The Sentiment was created with two stamps from the Tin of Cards stamp set.

Do children still play with alphabet building blocks?

Once the card is opened, the 3-steps are evident and I used them to spell out the word Boy.

As I either learn or develop new ideas or techniques, I write them into my technique notebook.  In the early years, I'm afraid I wasn't very good at recording where I learned the technique.  So I'm sorry to say that I can't properly acknowledge the person from whom I learned but I can say that this is a very good tutorial and template looks exactly like the one I used.

I did do something different though.  I didn't feel inclined to cut the decorative paper to fit so I adhered the decorative paper to a piece of Whisper White cardstock before I cut and scored.

The decorative paper is from the By The Shore Designer Series Paper
The letters are from the Sophisticated Serifs stamp set which, unfortunately, is now retired but it's the only set with large letters in my collection since I don't yet own the current set called Letters for You.

I added a label for writing the message and, since I lack any baby-oriented dies and didn't want to add more colour, I decorated the left side of the card with white flowers using the Flourish Thinlits.

Thank you for visiting.
'Til next time!
Stephanie

    1. Thank you, Vicki! I'll admit that I find that stamp set a little intimidating but practice is paying dividends I think.
