I stamped, coloured and punched three Santa's in no time flat the other day. I used the first one for this card and I'll show you the next two cards in my next post.
Which is to be? - Naughty or Nice? |
I stamped Santa with Basic Black Archival ink so that it wouldn't smudge when I coloured it. I did the colouring with Real Red, Basic Gray and Basic Black Stampin' Write Markers. I used an aquapainter with Pink Pirouette and Peekaboo Peach inks for the face. I then used the aquapainter and a little Smoky Slate ink to add the shading. I used Gold Wink of Stella for the belt buckle.
The scroll and the greeting are from the Greetings from Santa set and I stamped both in Basic Black ink - the scroll onto a piece of Whisper White scrap and the greeting directly onto the card front. I shaded the scroll with an aquapainter and Smoky Slate ink and then cut it out.
For the snowy background, I used Smoky Slate ink and an image from the Merriest Wishes set. I stamped it several times in a row across the top of the card front. Then I used a piece of scrap paper to mask what I had stamped and stamped again, with the top of the image falling onto the scrap paper. This elongated the area covered by the more spread apart dots.
I added a little star from the Greetings from Santa set using Smoky Slate ink and then gave it a touch of Clear Wink of Stella.
I stamped a couple of the images from the Merriest Wishes set for the decorative circle using Real Red and Basic Black inks. I didn't want to create a bauble, so I cut them out with the Layering Circles Framelits. I used a Smoky Slate and Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker to add a little more colour to the edge.
The Smoky Slate card base is 5" square (cut 11" x 51/2", scored at 51/2").
Thank you for visiting
'Til next time!
